| Project Synopsis: Challenge/Opportunity | Military training produces highly capable professionals, yet gaps in understanding between military and civilian systems create unnecessary barriers. Veterans face duplicated training, delayed employment, and underemployment, while Indiana employers struggle with workforce shortages in healthcare and public safety. Many veterans, especially Combat Medics, Navy Corpsmen, and Military Police, possess strong, relevant skills but must repeat large portions of civilian training because employers and licensing bodies lack clear equivalency frameworks. This capstone will develop and validate a practical skills crosswalk and accelerated pathway model that helps employers, educators, and veterans better understand how military experience translates into civilian credentials and careers.
